1970s 9ct gold curb chain, set with a 16.50ct emerald cut Aquamarine, in a platinum bezel setting.

Story: I can’t resist a heavy gold chain, and the masculine edge to this one is particularly wonderful when used to showcase this dreamy, crystal clear Aquamarine.

This design was conjured up whilst on honeymoon in the Indian Ocean. I wanted to capture the crystal clear waters, rippling over crisp white sand and the warm golden hues of sunset at cocktail hour. To be worn whilst dancing barefoot and sipping Margaritas.

Historical Context: Gold curb chains have a rich history dating back to ancient civilisations, valued for their durability and adornment. During the Renaissance, they became symbols of wealth and status among European nobility, admired for their intricate craftsmanship.

Aquamarine, often paired with gold, has long been associated with the sea, believed by ancient sailors to protect them during voyages. Symbolising clarity, calmness, and courage, aquamarine was thought to bring peace and tranquillity to its wearer. Today, both gold curb chains and aquamarine continue to represent timeless elegance, cherished across generations for their beauty and deeper meanings.
